The Powerpuff Girls become a big hit with children at Al Ghurair City during DSS 2006

With the Dubai Summer Surprises entering its final week, Al Ghurair City is hosting The Powerpuff Girls, the last of its popular cartoon series that has been brought to Dubai for this year’s summer extravaganza.

Large numbers of families and children have been flocking to the mall’s entertainment stage to get a glimpse of their favourite cartoon heroes, Blossom, Bubble and Buttercup, the energetic trio who are known to millions of TV viewers worldwide for their commitment to fighting crime before bedtime. The show is being presented by Al Ghurair City in collaboration with Warner Bros. Studios.

Dressed in their trademark costumes, The Powerpuff Girls have been charming children at their daily 20-minute show with special song-and-dance acts. Children are also able to interact with, and pose for photographs with their three super-powered favourites. The show times are daily at 4:00pm, 5.30pm, 6.45pm and 8:00pm.

The Powerpuff Girls, who will bring the DSS celebrations at Al Ghurair City to an end on 1st September, are the last of the four world-class acts to perform at Al Ghurair City, and follow the entertaining performances from Tom and Jerry, Aladdin and Woody Woodpecker.

Mukta Sabharwal, a spokesperson for Al Ghurair City, said: “The world famous cartoon characters who performed at Al Ghurair City have helped drive a large number of families and children to the mall this DSS. We have kept the best for the last in the form of The Powerpuff Girls, who are already endearing themselves to children visiting Al Ghurair City. As a result of this show, we are also anticipating an increase in the number of children who will come to the mall in the final days of DSS to enjoy the exciting activities that are being staged in line with the DSS theme of Big Fun For Little Ones”.

Al Ghurair City is hosting numerous other fun activities in addition to offering a range of the world’s best brands covering a wide range of merchandise including fashion, jewellery, watches and textiles, plus a variety of food catering to different tastes at its multi-cuisine food court.

Al Ghurair City is also offering DSS shoppers spending a minimum of Dhs.200, or multiples thereof, the chance to win up to Dhs.5 million in prizes under the Shopping Escapade promotion organised by the Dubai Shopping Malls Group. Lucky shoppers can win Dhs. 50,000 daily and a grand prize of a luxury apartment at the end of DSS in September.
