Al Ghurair City to host unique “World of Stories” event for DSS 2007

Dubai, June 17, 2007: Al Ghurair City, the first shopping mall in the Middle East, has announced fun packed activities for the entire family during this year’s DSS.

The highlight of the mall’s DSS programme will be an exclusive event entitled “The World of Stories”, which will take place between the 29th of June to the 5th of July. The event will bring to life the magical world of literature and original stories from around the world, mirroring the diverse cultures in Dubai.A series of pantomimes based on popular children stories such as Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella will be performed daily for a week twice a day. The plays will be narrated by a magical Genie and performed in both English and Arabic and will incorporate song, dance, slapstick comedy and will encourage audience participation.

Shoppers and their families will be greeted by original licensed characters, and children will have the opportunity to pose for photographs with their favourite characters, including Cinderella, Captain Hook and the Seven Dwarfs in their themed corners. Alternatively, for those who fancy a swashbuckling time, youngsters can engage in playful fun with Captain Hook.In addition, a story library will also be available to shoppers with popular tales from around the world. Families can enjoy time together as they read out popular stories to their children.
